The Shampoo and Conditioning regimen below should be followed by everyone, but further instruction listed on this page is intended for GinaCurl clients only

After Your GinaCurl

  • Wait three days after your GinaCurl to shampoo your hair.
  • After a good night of sleep, your hair may be flat in some areas. Simply mist your curls with water and scrunch to revive your bouncy curls.
  • Be aware your hair has product in it from the previous day, so adding more product can weigh your hair down or cause product build up. Misting and reactivating the product already in your hair is your first step in styling, only add leave-in conditioner and curl cream as needed for moisture then scrunch.
  • Keep your hair curly for three days after your GinaCurl. No stretching your hair in any way (e.g. pony tails, tucking behind ears, using a hair wrap, etc.).
  • If you choose to add product to your hair every day you will need to use a clarifying shampoo once a month.

How To Condition Your Hair:

  • Wring out your hair so there is as little water as possible. This is very important because if you hair is filled with water the conditioner will just sit on top of the hair, instead of penetrating into the hair.
  • Apply your GinaCurl Replenishing Treatment mid shaft down to the ends of your hair in a downward motion. Let the treatment soak into your hair for a few minutes.
  • Using a wide tooth comb, comb through and detangle your hair gently.
  • Keep your hair curly for three days after your GinaCurl. No stretching your hair in any way (e.g. pony tails, tucking behind ears, using a hair wrap, etc.).
  • You may need to section your hair to detangle it once your roots grow in.
  • Rinse out your conditioning treatment completely. Never leave conditioner in the hair, even a little bit.
  • Wring out excess water.
  • Once a month you can use your Replenishing treatment as a deep conditioner by shingling the treatment all over your hair, putting a plastic cap on, and leaving it on for 3-4 hours or under a steamer for 30mins to an hour.

How To Shampoo Your Hair:

  • Saturate your hair thoroughly with water.
  • Use 1 to 2 pumps of GinaCurl Replenishing Shampoo.
  • Lather the shampoo onto your scalp with your fingers. The first shampoo lifts and loosens the dirt on your roots and scalp so the scalp is the focus for now.
  • Remember to place your fingers on the scalp, lightly massage, then remove your fingers and place them on a different part of your scalp. Never drag your fingers as this can tangle/tear your hair.
  • Rinse out the shampoo, focusing on the scalp and the roots.
  • Repeat steps 1 through 3 but focus on the mid shaft to the ends of your hair for your second shampoo round.
  • Remember to follow the direction of your hair and drag the shampoo in a downward motion with your hands; don’t tousle your hair.
  • Rinse out the shampoo thoroughly.
  • Never detangle or comb through hair with shampoo!
  • Don’t be alarmed by shedding after the GinaCurl. Humans shed about 50-100 hair strands a day, which for those blessed with a tighter natural curl pattern, those hairs are usually not able to easily free themselves during washes.
  • Going forward, especially on your first wash day, the shedding will look more substantial than what you’re used to since you haven’t combed through your hair for three days, and due to your new hair texture.
  • With the GinaCurl, the hair is now stretched out, so it will visually appear to be more hair in the drain, but that’s just because, unlike before, the shed hair is freer to remove itself from the healthy hair, which is why the GinaCurl is able to avoid tangles and breakage.

How to Style Your Hair With A GinaCurl:

  • Apply Therapispa All in 1 Moisturizing Milk, or your personal leave-in conditioner, and shingle into your hair (check out Gina’s Shingling Technique on YouTube).
  • Mist your hair with water if your hair begins to dry too quickly.
  • Apply client favorite Therapispa Curl Cream then scrunch your hair and allow to air dry or diffuse on low heat.
  • Finish off your styling by misting your hair with the Semi Di Lino Cristalli Shine Spray.
  • Use Therapispa Curl Fluid to refresh your curls (especially the ends) and scrunch. If you have frizzy hair, hard to manage ends, or have some stubborn strands that don’t want to coil as much as you like, our recommended products are ideal for reviving your curls. Use them sparingly as they are very concentrated.
